Churches, Chapels and Manor Houses

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Philip and St. James is a single-nave early Gothic building dating from around 1280. It has a rectangular presbytery end and a projecting tower. Inside are wall paintings by Jozef Hanula dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Thus, medieval architecture and significantly later painted decoration come together in one building.

The late Renaissance manor house in Liptovská Teplá is designed as a two-storey, block-like building with five bays and a mansard roof. The Neoclassical Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk also stands on a road beside the Váh. An important restriction applies when visiting the Dvornikovič family manor house: it is not open to the public and can only be viewed from the adjacent road.

The Madočany manor house is also part of the local history. It is a Neoclassical manor house dating from 1830. It included a park and outbuildings, which were constructed between 1830 and 1832. A manor house in Liptovská Teplá also has a Baroque extension and interior alterations on the upper floor dating from the second half of the 18th century. A decorative Rococo stove made of white majolica has been preserved in one room.

The Váh, Cycling Routes and Walks

For active days, the relevant section of the Váh has a clear special feature: it is navigable year-round, including by open boats, and has a tourist difficulty rating. This provides various options for enjoying the water without having to combine them into a single offering.

Red-marked cycling routes pass through Liptovská Teplá. When it comes to hiking, however, an important distinction must be made: no marked hiking trail starts from Liptovská Teplá. Walks are possible in the meadows northeast of the town towards the Dvoriská hill. Anyone wishing to combine a short outing with a viewpoint can find the Madočany swing on a solitary pine tree in a meadow near Madočany in Liptovská Teplá. From there, there are views of the Low Tatras, parts of the Choč Mountains and the Western Tatras. The walk from Madočany to the swing takes about half an hour.

A Planned Boating Experience

Before the Liptovská Teplá station, boats were inflated on the bank of the Váh. A roughly 31-kilometre trip down the Váh to Kraľovany was planned.
