Poriadie – Cultural Trails and Memorial Sites in the Myjava Hills

Poriadie lies on the low slopes of the Myjava Hills and, with part of its territory, extends to the southwestern foothills of the White Carpathians below the Javorina Massif. The municipality is characterized by a distinctly dispersed settlement pattern. This corresponds to the Kopaničiarske settlement form, in which buildings are not concentrated in a single compact village center. The route thus combines physical activity with informative stopping points, without combining different types of paths into a single route description. Another option is the easy, green-marked path leading from Poriadie to the monument in Krivosudy. It is approximately 3 kilometers long; this figure is explicitly an estimate. For a longer hike, the green-marked trail No. 5116 runs for 10.3 kilometers from Poriadie railway station via Zemlianky, the SNP Monument and Prídolie to the Dibrovov Monument on the Czech border. At the Dibrovov Monument, this trail intersects with the long-distance Cesta hrdinov SNP trail.

Memorial Sites in Krivosudy and the White Carpathians

The Krivosudy locality in Poriadie is associated with the history of partisan resistance: a partisan group camped there in October 1944. The partisan site includes the Zbojníčka Spring and earth bunkers that the partisans built there. The bunkers in Krivosudy are preserved and equipped with simple wooden bunks that served as beds. Another historical point of reference is the U Klasovitých Monument. It commemorates the last battle of the first campaign of the insurgent army of the Slovak Revolution in 1848. The memorial complex was ceremonially unveiled in 1968. The approach to the monument leads along a flight of steps lined by a row of trees. The Dibrovov Monument, by contrast, stands on the ridge of the White Carpathians and also marks a point on the aforementioned hiking trail to the Czech border.

Railway Station and Bicycle Shelter

Poriadie has a railway station that bears the name of the municipality. The railway line running through Poriadie was built and put into operation in 1930. The smart bicycle shelter in the center is also relevant for finding your way around the municipality. It has a charger for six electric bicycles as well as a touchscreen information panel through which visitors can access interesting information.

Local Customs and Events

The local cultural life is also part of Poriadie's character. Jarný slnovrat is a traditional pre-Easter event held at the Poriadie cultural center. In addition, the public goulash-cooking competition was held in 2024 as its VIII edition, in 2025 as its IX edition and in 2026 as its X edition. The successive editions give the competition a clearly established place in the local events calendar, while Jarný slnovrat represents a separate pre-Easter cultural event.
