Ivanka Pri Nitre

In Ivanka pri Nitre, church and settlement history meet leisure destinations with very different focuses. Here you will find a church with an unusually tilted tower, archaeological traces dating from the Early Bronze Age to the time of Pribina and Svätopluk, a nine-hole golf course, a greyhound racing track and a recreation zone at former gravel pits.

In addition, archaeologists discovered an Old Slavic settlement dating from the time of Pribina and Svätopluk. Archaeological finds in Ivanka pri Nitre include an imperial crown belonging to the ruler Monomach and a gold coin.

A cemetery also preserves a historical memory: one of the cemeteries in Ivanka pri Nitre contains the tomb of the Hungarian Interior Minister Viliam Tóth.
