Rejdová: Folk Culture, Experience Trails and Winter Sports

An important point of interest is the national cultural monument “Evanjelický kostol Sv. Michala Archanjela”. The church dates back to the 17th century. The Múzeum tradičnej ľudovej kultúry is located in a traditional wooden folk house on the village square. The Gemerský folklorný festival, traditionally held in the second half of August, plays a special role. A festival programme in Rejdová has included open courtyards, demonstrations of folk crafts and presentations of artisans’ work. Participating municipalities offered traditional dishes, while local hunters served traditional game goulash.

Experience Trails with Different Focuses

The experience trail in Rejdová begins at the car park behind the local amphitheatre. The signposted route offers a blue and a red route option. The experience trail is 3 km long in total and accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. One of its stops is an oversized swing overlooking the village. This makes the trail suitable for travellers who want to combine their stay with a manageable outdoor activity and a specific viewpoint.

The Náučný chodník offers a different way to explore the area. It has seven information panels in the built-up area and outskirts of the municipality. The educational trail is approximately 3.5 km long and can be completed in around 1.5 hours. Its approximate length and duration make it easier to incorporate this option into a day plan. Depending on whether you prefer a signposted route option, a cycling loop or an educational trail with information panels, your planning will take on a different focus.

Stolica and the Rejdová Ski Resort

Stolica is important for understanding the landscape: at 1,477 metres, it is the highest peak of the Slovak Ore Mountains and is located in Rejdová.
