The cadastral territory of Hradište Pod Vrátnom includes the Malé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. The natural monuments of Kyseľová and Mníchova úboč offer a special insight into the landscape of the Myjavská pahorkatina. Kyseľová protects a rocky forest steppe with rare, endangered, and protected thermophilous plant species. At Mníchova úboč, the focus is on rock formations of the georelief and a thermophilous rocky steppe with several endangered and protected plant species. Church, chapel, and historical monuments

The church stands in the northern part of the village on Háj Hill. Its polygonally closed chancel has a preserved Gothic-vaulted window. A well-maintained, enclosed parish cemetery surrounds the church. It contains stone crosses from the early 19th century, known for their workmanship as “dobrovodské.” A large stone cross at the cemetery entrance bears the year 1783 and the restoration inscription “Reno 1910.”

The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity also contributes to the village’s historical character. It was built in 1845 on a hill northeast of Hradište Pod Vrátnom, above the Vlčie jamy sandstone quarry. While the church was being repaired after the 1906 earthquake, services were held in the chapel. In the Dolný koniec district, a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk also stands in a small park at the junction of the state road and the railway. The accompanying chronostich dates from 1759.

Hiking and cycling with clear route details

For a longer hike, the green-marked Chodník Jána Hollého trail, TZT 5107, runs from Hradište Pod Vrátnom via Dobrá Voda to Pustá Ves. The trail is 18.8 km long and can therefore be planned as a standalone day trip without assuming a specific walking time. Another route runs from Prekážka to Hradište Pod Vrátnom and is 13.5 km long.

The surrounding area can also be explored by bicycle on cycling routes. Cycling route 5229 connects Hradište Pod Vrátnom with Brezová pod Bradlom. Route 5228 runs from Prietrž via Žuščíci to Hradište Pod Vrátnom and connects settlements in the Myjavská pahorkatina. When planning your trip, you can therefore choose between a hike focused on history and landscapes and a cycling tour between several places.

Local culture and remembrance

The historic railway station building is used by Stanica Haradicha, a cultural centre for the community of friends and supporters of OZ Haradicha. Local remembrance culture also includes the war memorial with a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and plaques commemorating local victims of the First and Second World Wars. The Hradišťanka brass band is also known outside Slovakia. Together with the churches, crosses, and historical traces, this creates a village character that goes beyond purely landscape-based experiences.

A small fortified settlement from the 9th to 10th century was established on Tomišovec Hill above the village, below a steep slope on the Brezovský potok. Its dating is based on pottery sherds that were found there.
