Sobotište – Manor House, Habán Court and Cultural Route

Sobotište combines a historically shaped town centre with museums, religious buildings and routes into the countryside of the White Carpathians. Manor House and Historic Buildings in the Centre

The Nyáryovský Manor House is located in the centre of Sobotište and was built in 1631. The building is therefore a central reference point in the history of the town. The Nyáryovský Manor House currently houses a museum, bringing together the original building history and present-day museum use in a historic building.

The Protestant church is also part of the townscape. It was built in 1783–1784 as a Toleration Church without a tower. Another notable part of the historic heritage is the Habán Bell Tower, which was built in 1753 above a vaulted cellar in the former Habán Court. The Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and its grounds have been included in the heritage protection fund of the Slovak Republic.

Habán Court and Museum

The Habán Museum in Sobotište is located in the Habán Court preservation zone in a reconstructed building, the Habán Mill. Another way to connect Sobotište with a longer route is the cross-border Vacenovice–Sobotište cycling route. It starts in Vacenovice and leads via Rúdník, Studienka Nedbalka, Račie údolie, Skalica, Radošovce, Chropov and Chvojnica to Sobotište. The Sobotište Observatory is used for observing the sky and teaching astronomy in the region. For excursions into the countryside around Sobotište, the tourist shelter below Uchánok is designated as a starting point and place to rest; it lies at an elevation of approximately 516.4 m.
