Radava – Nature Trail, Churches and Cycling Routes

Radava combines a thematically diverse nature trail with church architecture, historic village details, wine and designated cycling routes. This creates a destination whose special features can be explored in several ways: on foot along information stations, by bicycle on named routes or through the architectural and cultural history of the village.

Nature Trail and Cycling Routes

The nature trail in Radava is approximately 3.993 km long and has nine information stations. These stations focus on regional culture and history as well as fauna and flora. The route therefore combines physical activity with an informative overview of local topics, without limiting the individual stations to a single subject area.

Two different routes are also described for a cycling tour. The Radava cycling route 2103 Podhájska–Radava–Podhájska is designated as an easy recreational MTB route. It follows a field track to Radava and there runs for a section alongside a church and a woodcarving gallery. The easy cycling route 5102 connects Veľké Lovce, Radava, Podhájska and Čechy. You should consider the two designations separately: one route is designated as a recreational MTB route, while the other is an easy connection between four villages.

Churches and Historic Village Character

One of the distinctive buildings is the Church of the Holy Spirit, a Baroque Roman Catholic church. It was built in 1767 on the foundations of an earlier church. Inside, an oil painting of the Descent of the Holy Spirit is displayed on a painted columned altar. The Viennese painter Franz Schön created the painting around 1815.

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius provides a different architectural accent. Its floor plan is hexagonal, and it was built in 1969–1970. This setting is complemented by a historic 19th-century bell tower, which stands in Radava on four wooden posts. The village also has vernacular houses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries with traditional floor-plan and façade features.

Landscape, Wine and Other Activities

Radava and its surroundings lie at the transition from the Danube Lowland to the Danube Hills. This change in landscape provides the spatial setting for the aforementioned paths and the different village views. Another cultural facet is Víno Radava: in 2026, the wine competition exhibition reached its 12th edition. For Víno Radava 2026, a public tasting of the competition wines was scheduled for 18 April 2026 at the Radava Cultural Centre. This information therefore describes an event with a specific date and does not automatically indicate a permanent offering.

Radava also offers opportunities for agrotourism and horse riding. Together with the nature trail, churches and cycling routes, this provides a selection of different travel interests, without limiting the village to just one type of experience.
