Levkuška combines a mountainous landscape with a distinctive body of water and an evangelical church whose construction history dates back to the 18th century. This makes the village suitable for a trip to Slovakia in which natural surroundings, regional history and a small, clearly defined local character come together.

Landscape in the Slovenské rudohorie

Levkuška lies in the southeastern part of the Slovenské rudohorie mountain range. The landscape includes the Levkuška Reservoir, which covers 16 hectares and lies behind the village in a beautiful natural setting. In addition, part of a lake shared by the municipality with Otročok and Rašice is located within the cadastral area of Levkuška. These two details show that water and landscape are part of the village’s spatial identity, without reducing Levkuška to a single excursion destination. The natural landscape around Levkuška is suitable for hiking tourism. For travel planning, this means that a quiet landscape experience is the main focus; it does not imply specific trails, distances or current offers. Those who view the village as a starting point for a trip to Slovakia will find above all the contrast between the mountain region of the Slovenské rudohorie, the water behind the village and the historical traces within the village itself.

Evangelical Church with Distinctive Interior Features

The evangelical church of Levkuška provides a distinct cultural accent. It was built in 1804 on the site of an older church dating from 1739. Inside, there is a Classicist altar from the early 19th century. The furnishings also include a flat painted coffered ceiling and a wooden Protestant gallery supported by carved columns. The church is in good condition and continues to serve its religious purpose. Its significance therefore lies not only in the date of the present building, but also in the preserved combination of altar, ceiling and gallery. For travelers interested in culture, the church offers a concrete insight into regional ecclesiastical architecture, without this implying any particular visiting rule or guaranteed access at a specific time.

Body of Water and Documented Fishing Events

The water is also associated with fishing. The Levkuška Cup has been announced for 2026 as a fishing competition for teams. During the Levkuška Challenge, caught fish must be returned to the water immediately after being weighed and entered in the catch record, under the supervision of the referees. The description of this event clarifies how the competition works, but says nothing about general leisure activities or permanent availability. The VN Levkuška body of water is listed in the Slovak Anglers Association’s regulations for special permits as fishing area 3-5310-1-1 under MO Tornaľa. This documents an official classification of the body of water; current permits, conditions or access options cannot be inferred from it.

Agriculture-Shaped Local Character

The history of the population is also part of understanding Levkuška. The inhabitants were mainly engaged in agriculture, and this did not change later either. Together with the location in the Slovenské rudohorie, the water area and the evangelical church, this creates a village profile in which natural and cultural themes stand closely side by side.
