Jaslovské Bohunice: Culture, Park and Active Experiences

Jaslovské Bohunice combines Classical sacred architecture, a historically shaped manor park and various opportunities for exercise and family time. Church, Manor House and English Park

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael the Archangel was built between 1832 and 1836 in the Classical style. Its furnishings include a wooden organ dating from 1841. It is also designed in the Classical style and has a Mozart-type keyboard. In addition to its architectural history, the church therefore offers a specific detail for visitors interested in historic interiors and musical instruments.

Another cultural point of interest is the manor house of Jaslovské Bohunice. The building was originally a late Baroque structure dating from the end of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, it was extended and remodelled in the style of Romantic Neo-Romanesque Historicism. An English park is located next to the manor house. Paths lead to ponds, fountains and sculptures; the park also contains rare woody plants, old trees and flower beds.

Disc Golf and Horse Riding in the Village

The park next to the manor house contains a disc golf course that is freely available to the general public. The course has nine holes and is 620 metres long in total. This provides a specific leisure experience that differs from simply visiting the park, without requiring you to assume that a general sports programme is available.

The AXA Riding Club is also part of the local offering. It was founded in 2000 and offers recreational riding in addition to training show-jumping horses. Less experienced riders can ride in a sand arena under the guidance of a trainer. The riding club is located in the Areál PD in Jaslovské Bohunice. For families and travellers interested in equestrian sports, this precise distinction between training, recreational riding and supervised riding is particularly relevant.

Cycling Routes, Educational Trail and Protected Landscape

Jaslovské Bohunice has three sections of cycling routes with a total length of 1.5 kilometres. The municipality also offers tips for cycling trips away from heavily trafficked roads: these include gravel and dirt field tracks as well as lightly trafficked paved roads within the municipalities. This provides both short designated cycling-route sections and different road surfaces for orientation.

A marked educational trail has five information panels. In addition, the cadastral areas of Bohunice, Jaslovce and Paderovce are part of a protected bird area. It was established to preserve the habitats of the saker falcon and to safeguard the conditions necessary for its survival and reproduction. The area's connection with nature is therefore evident not only in the park but also in an expressly protected habitat.

More Leisure Activities

The Mlyn shooting range in Bohunice has shooting stands for skeet, trap, automatic trap and universal trap. Visitors can shoot there under the supervision of an experienced trainer if they contact the manager in advance. On the grounds, a fragment of Pavlovič's mill serves as the last reminder of the former glory of the local mills.

For small children, there is the enclosed Lienka playground with modern play features and climbing equipment. The playground also includes wooden figures of the fairy-tale characters Dlhý, Široký and Bystrozraký. The ŠK Blava sports complex includes a floodlit artificial-turf pitch as well as a tennis hall and a badminton hall.
