Trnkov – Church, Village Traditions and Leisure Activities

Trnkov is a place in Slovakia whose character is defined by a clearly described landscape setting, a documented ecclesiastical history, and local traditions. The village lies on the northern edge of the Košická kotlina basin, in the Toryská pahorkatina subunit. The built-up area is situated in a deeply incised small valley formed by the Trnkovský potok stream. The stream flows from Maglovec. A prominent landmark in the village's more recent history is the Greek Catholic Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. It was built in 1925 and reconstructed and extended in 1994.
