Church of St. John the Baptist

The dominant landmark of Ľubá is the Roman Catholic church, which is also considered a sacred monument. The Church of St. John the Baptist was built in the Baroque style in the 18th century. Its interior has a single nave and a polygonal apse. A special detail can be found on the main altar: it includes a hanging painting of St. John the Baptist by K. Jakobey from 1882. Northeast of Ľubá lies a system of four small water reservoirs. At the Ľubá boundary on the Parížský potok, a reservoir was built in the second half of the 20th century. For anglers, the reservoir near Ľubá is known as a popular fishing spot; carp are the main catch there. The four small reservoirs and the reservoir lake are therefore different elements of the local aquatic landscape and should not be understood as a single body of water.

Ľubá lies between the Bélai Hills, the southernmost extension of the Garamment Hills. The local cultural character also includes the folk costume of Ľubá, which belongs to the large family of Palóc costumes.
