Nimnica – Wellness above the Nosická Reservoir

Nimnica combines a distinctive landscape setting with a clear focus on wellness and outdoor activities. At the next junction there is a hikers’ shelter, several rest areas, an outdoor fitness area and a drinking-water spring. You can therefore distinguish the described routes by their landscape focus: Holíš represents the ascent from the village via the spa, while the cycling route incorporates the reservoir, the harbour and the marked cycling route.

Getting There and Traces of Local History

The easiest way to reach Kúpele Nimnica is said to be by train to Púchov. Almost all express trains on the Bratislava–Žilina route stop there. From the station, continue by regional bus or taxi. This travel description makes Púchov the named transport point for the journey to the spa, without assuming any further distances or travel times.

The history of the place also reaches further back. The area of today’s municipality of Nimnica was home to a settlement from the La Tène period as well as a settlement of the Púchov culture from Roman times. The “Church of Our Lady of Fatima” is a branch church in Nimnica.
