Horné Mladonice

The first written mention of the settlement dates from 1439. As early as 1463, two villages belonging to the Bzovík estate were mentioned. Historical architecture has been preserved at several locations in Horné Mladonice. An important landmark is the church dedicated to Saint Demeter. It was built from 1888 to 1890 on older foundations and is described as a single-nave building with a semicircular presbytery. The local culture of remembrance also includes a memorial plaque dedicated to Jozef Cíger Hronský. The Slovak writer, teacher and editor worked in Horné Mladonice from 1914 to 1916. In 1935, a large part of Horné Mladonice burned down.
