On December 1, 2011 in Slovakia will start its work a new airline - Slovakian Airlines. This company will operate in the budget segment. Originally Slovakian Airlines fleet will include three Boeing 737-500.
Slovakian Airlines will take the place vacated after the collapse of the Air Slovakia national company in June 2010.
Anyway, Slovakian Airlines will compete in Slovakia with such serious player as Ryanair budget carrier. Ryanair is considered to be the main carrier of the Bratislava airport, which on December 1 will be home for the Slovakian Airlines, reported flyawaysimulation.com.
In the future the number of aircrafts of the Slovakian Airlines will increase. The exact number of planes for the new company will depend on the final version of the company's flight schedule. Currently, among the major destinations of the Slovakian Airlines are considered Russia, Britain, Italy and Spain.
According to the airline representatives, destinations were chosen according to several factors: economic component, competition and the potential volume of passenger traffic.
For Slovakia and Bratislava airport in particular the new airline may be the solution of all problems. New air carrier will improve the employment rate among the aviation personnel, which is in decline after the bankruptcy of another Slovakian budget airline - Sky Europe. For the Bratislava airport creation of Slovakian Airlines is the possibility to get additional fees for terminal using, as well as easing the pressure from Ryanair, which provided the main airport traffic and had the opportunity to influence the pricing policy.
Slovakian Airlines will be the fourth airline that will carry out regular flights from the Bratislava airport. Three others are the "Czech Airlines" (CSA), Ryanair and Danube Wings.
