For longer journeys by bicycle, an easy cycling route is available from Žarnovica via Žarnovická Huta to Pekný les. It follows the route of the former forest railway. Horse riding is also available in the Pekný les area.

Memorial site at Brode

The SNP memorial is located at the end of Horné Hámre, above the built-up area on the road towards Veľké Pole. It is freely accessible.
