The current stage replaced FIA GT1 race in Argentina, which was announced on February 6, 2012.
The main favorites of the upcoming race are Chevrolet Cruze, Seat Leon and BMW 320 TC teams. Among the new participants are Volvo C30 and Ford Focus. In addition, to the Slovak Ring will arrive updated Honda Civic team and revived Russian team Lada, which race car will be based on the Granta model.
The stage in Slovakia will follow the French Nogaro, Zolder track in Belgium and Spanish Navarra. The Slovak race will be followed by Portugal (Algarve) and China (Beijing). FIA GT1 racing tracks are also located in such countries as USA, Italy, Korea, Morocco, Brazil, China and Japan.
FIA GT1 is a relatively new circuit race, which was launched in 2010. Its organizers hope that their new creation will be able to reach the same popularity level in the world as American NASCAR.
