Ski resorts in Slovakia will be one of the hits of this winter season. Low prices, wide selection of tracks, beautiful nature of High Tatras, Slovak hospitality - are the main reasons that make a holiday in Slovakia attractive for tourists from Russia.
This year, given the strong demand for Slovak resorts, a number of airlines in Russia has prepared special charter flights to Poprad - a town in the High Tatras, where is located the airport closest to most ski resorts in Slovakia.
As expected, the average ticket price for a charter to Poprad this season is about 200 euros. In particular, these figures are provided by “Tourinfo” with reference to the leading tour operators specializing in Slovakia, including "East-West", "Russian Express", "Solvex-Travel" and "SNP".
Charters to Poprad will be made by several regional airlines in Russia. Among them are "Yamal", "Tatarstan", "Kavminvodyavia" and Sky Express budget airline. Sky Express makes flights to Poprad from Moscow's Vnukovo airport. Charters to Poprad will be performed according to a special schedule, which will operate from 3 December 2010 to 6 March 2011. Flights will be made on Boeings. Vnukovo will also host flights by "Kavminvodyavia". Flights will be made on TU 204. From Domodedovo will depart “Yamal” and “Tatarstan” airlines.
It is worth noting that flights to Poprad will be used for delivery of tourists not only to the ski resorts in Slovakia, but also to the Polish resort of Zakopane, which is located 70 kilometers from the airport.
Slovakia today offers tours to such resorts of the country as Strbske Pleso, Jasna, Tatranska Lomnica, Donovaly, Smokovec, and others. This year for tourists Slovakia have developed a single lift pass that allows enjoying the tracks of several resorts.
