Malý Slavkov combines protected landscapes, sacred culture and active excursions in a distinctive Tatra setting. If you are looking for accommodation in Slovakia and want to combine nature, cycling, golf and historical details, the village offers several different points of interest for planning your trip.

Protected Landscape Around Malý Slavkov

The Slavkovský jarok protected area is located in the cadastral territory of Malý Slavkov and covers 2.48 hectares. The Slavkovský potok stream flows through the village and comes from the Skalnatá Valley in the Tatras. The protected area also has the fourth level of protection. Slavkovský jarok is also one of three sites where an endangered species is found in the sub-Tatra region.

Another natural area is the Kút Nature Reserve. It covers 11.22 hectares and extends partly into the northwestern part of Malý Slavkov. Several plant species considered endangered grow there. Those who pay attention to specific landscapes and natural areas when choosing their destination will therefore find various themes in Malý Slavkov that can be explored independently of one another.

Church of Saint Michael and Special Details

A notable cultural landmark is the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Michael. It was built between 1844 and 1847 in the Classicist style. Its furnishings include an organ by Gebruder Rieger bearing the dates Vienna 1873 and Paris 1878. The church also has a late Renaissance relief.

These details also make Malý Slavkov interesting for travelers who, on a trip to Slovakia, want to take regional architectural and cultural history into account alongside the landscape. The church can thus be included as a separate cultural focus in personal day planning, without deriving any further statements about opening hours or current access.

Golf and Cycling as Different Travel Options

The Royal Valley Golf Course is located in Malý Slavkov in a landscape at the foot of the Tatras and offers views of the peaks of the High Tatras. It is designed for a broad range of golfers, from beginners to experienced players. Alongside nature and cultural themes, this provides a clearly defined option for golf-oriented trip planning.

For cyclists, marked forest cycling routes lead from Malý Slavkov to the High Tatras. The Kežmarok–Malý Slavkov–Vrbov route runs along asphalt, field and forest roads. These different surfaces can help you consider, before choosing accommodation, whether you would rather include a specific connecting route or marked forest trails in your trip. No information about length, travel time or difficulty is implied.

Accommodation and Further Trip Planning

Restaurants, accommodation and catering establishments are available to visitors in Malý Slavkov. When looking for suitable accommodation, you can therefore first decide whether the focus of your trip will be on the protected areas, the church, the golf course or cycling. The destinations and activities mentioned differ in character and can accordingly be included separately in your Slovakia travel plans.

For further travel destinations, you can also include Spišská Belá, Spišské Hanušovce, Matiašovce, Veľká Lomnica, Slovenská Ves, Reľov, Vrbov and Majere in your selection.
