The world-renowned Swiss musician Andreas Vollenweider is going to perform in Bratislava for the first time in his long career. He is going to play a variety of his songs, most of which are for his unique electro-acoustic harp. This harp has always been his signature sound, although Vollenweider can play a great variety of instruments, including exotic ones like Chinese guzheng.
Two of the Vollenweider’s albums have held the first place in Billboard charts in four categories simultaneously for over 11 weeks. His music is categorized as World Music, Jazz, New Age and Classical.
Vollenweider is not coming alone. It has been announced, that he will bring a surprise guest. Judging by the people, he used to cooperate with – Luciano Pavarotti, Bobby McFerrin and Ray Anderson among them – the guest is likely to be very interesting as well.
The concert is scheduled to be held on October, 4 at 20.00. It will be hosted by the Ružinov Palace of Culture at Ružinovská 28, with tickets costing €39.
If you are coming from afar, you could stay overnight at one of the Bratislava's hotels.
