The scandal on cooperation of the Parliament with a Slovak travel agency has erupted in Slovakia. The reason for the scandal has become the information published on the pages of the most popular newspaper in Slovakia SME. According to released by SME data, the Slovak Parliament for 3 years worked closely with the travel agency Satur Travel. In particular, through the company were purchased tickets for travels of the Slovak parliament. There is no something blameworthy except one "but." Company is owned by one of the existing parliament members Dusan Munk.
In total Parliament has paid over 500 thousand euros to Satur Travel Slovak.
The company owner Dusan Munk does not see anything blameworthy in it. SME citing the MP said that Satur Travel won the tender to provide the Slovakian parliament with airline tickets in a fair fight, offering the lowest prices.
The publication notes that during the joint work the Office of the Parliament has purchased from Satur Travel tickets at the prices ranging from 200 to 400 euros. At the same time the cost of Ryanair flights from Bratislava are available at a price of 80 to 182 euros. Tickets for the flights of Austrian Airlines from Vienna are offered for 296 euros.
It is unknown yet whether Satur Travel will continueits cooperation with the Office of the Parliament. Satur Travel signed contract with the office for three years and will provide services of the company in the amount of 616,000 euros. The contract between the company owned by the deputy, and the office of parliament, has repeatedly been criticized by the Slovak politics, in particular the head of the Slovak Foreign Ministry Frantisek Shebei. At the same time, the Slovak news agency TASR quoted Parliament Speaker Richard Sulik, who said that the cancellation of a contract with Satur Travel is impossible.
