Slovakia Ring racing stadium located 36 km from the Slovak capital of Bratislava in the town of Orechova Poton will host one of the most spectacular racing in the world – a stage of FIA GT1 world road circuit racing series. According to sme.sk, competitions will be held on 28-29 of April.

Slovakia Ring is one of the longest race circuits in Europe. Its length is 5.9 km. It was constructed in 2009.
Slovakia is not the only country in Eastern Europe, which for the first time will host the world-class circuit racing. As expected, another stage will take place in Volokolamsk in the Moscow region on September 29-30. However, the local circuit is still under construction.

The current stage replaced FIA GT1 race in Argentina, which was announced on February 6, 2012.

The main favorites of the upcoming race are Chevrolet Cruze, Seat Leon and BMW 320 TC teams. Among the new participants are Volvo C30 and Ford Focus. In addition, to the Slovak Ring will arrive updated Honda Civic team and revived Russian team Lada, which race car will be based on the Granta model.

The stage in Slovakia will follow the French Nogaro, Zolder track in Belgium and Spanish Navarra. The Slovak race will be followed by Portugal (Algarve) and China (Beijing). FIA GT1 racing tracks are also located in such countries as USA, Italy, Korea, Morocco, Brazil, China and Japan.

FIA GT1 is a relatively new circuit race, which was launched in 2010. Its organizers hope that their new creation will be able to reach the same popularity level in the world as American NASCAR.
