Ryanair and Bratislava airport: 5 years together

One of the leading low cost airlines in Europe - Ryanair – on October 13, 2010 celebrated 5 years of cooperation with the main international airport of Slovakia - Milan Stefanik Airport in Bratislava.

In autumn 2005 Ryanair’s plane made its first landing in the capital of Slovakia. It was a flight from Bergamo.

For five years the Irish airline serviced at the airport in Bratislava in a total 3.5 mln of passengers. To date, Ryanair is the largest airline operating on the basis of the Bratislava airport.

In the first year of the opening of flights from Bratislava Ryanair serviced 63,000 passengers. In 2009 the number reached 800 000. By the end of 2010 the company expects growth in passengers to 1 million people.

During the past summer season, Ryanair launched from the Bratislava airport in total 21 flight. In particular, the company offers tickets for popular destinations such as Malaga, Alicante and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, as well as Pisa, Bari and Bologna in Italy. Among European capitals, where there are established regular flights from Bratislava Ryanair are London, Dublin, Brussels, Stockholm, Rome and Paris.

Ryanair has become a popular airline by extremely low prices on airline tickets. For example, recently has finished a special action of the carrier, which allowed booking a ticket to one of the flights of the airline for just 7 euros.

Slovakia will host the world motor racing competition for the first time
