Small but very popular ski resort Podbanske is located on the border of the West and High Tatra Mountains at Mount Krivan, 32 km from Stary Smokovec and 13 km from Strbske Pleso, at an altitude of 940 m.

Ski Resort Podbanske attracts with its ski slopes, which are suitable for beginners and children, as well as for professionals. To familiarize you with the skiing are ready special ski school with excellent instructors. Tracks are located at an altitude of 950-1100m, and are served by two ski lifts with the length of 350-550m. For fans of snowboarding there are also good conditions. And those who just want to fool about and have a good time there are wonderful sledge tracks.

The vacationers will not have to worry about the accommodation. The most famous hotels in these places are Krivan and Permon. Krivan is located 200m from the ski lifts. The hotel also invites to visit the recreation center Permons Paradise and swimming pools. It is situated 8 km from Shtrebske Pleso and 200 m from the ski lifts of their own.

Podbanske region turns in the south into the region Liptov. Here you can climb up the Mount Krivan, or to get acquainted with the nature of the Western Tatra Mountains by visiting the gorge Bystra. The upper section has four mountain lakes. The biggest of them is the lake Vyshne Bystro Pleso, which is also the deepest in the Western Tatra Mountains. Fill your impressions can by the walk to the mountain Bystra (2248m), back to the region Pyshne Sedlo (1791 m) and return through the Rocky valley.
