Vacation for children in Slovakia is popular as nowhere else in Central Europe. You can locally find camps for children. They are approximately in each picturesque place in Slovakia such as Tatry, small Carpathians, in national reserves Slovenskiy paradise and Poloniny. Slovak people are able to organize a holiday for children in such a way that parents who don’t want their children to go far away from them could find an appropriate variant. For this very reason a lot of comfortable hotels are built quiet near the kindergartens with a whole range of entertainment for adults.

Slovakia inherited the system of camps for children from their socialist past. In those times and even nowadays they were the only way to give each child an opportunity to have a quality rest. After getting an independence Slovakia decided to use its potential. As a competition in that sanitary or cognitive tourism in the region was quiet high (Czech, Poland, Hungary) then the trend “children’s rest” was admitted as one of the main visiting tourist cards of the country. That is why nowadays the quality of children’s rest in Slovakia is one of the highest in central Europe.

The majority of children’s camps in Slovakia receive children primarily from the age of 8 to 16. At the same time there are special groups where children from the age of 6 are admitted in a whole range of recreation centers. A lot of camps for children are distinguished according to their specialization: there are camps for active rest (first of all – mountain ones), camps of a scout’s type, musical and the art ones. Moreover rest in these camps is not restricted to the territory of the camp only. Each of these boarding houses has its own unique tours: the ones into the caves, into haunted castles, the ones with aqua parks and thermal pools.

A lot of camps for children in Slovakia are organized on the basis of domestic hotels. As a rule most of the offers from the owners of small camps are in a winter season – the most popular tourist time in Slovakia. High Tatry is a zone of a maximum concentration of private children’s hotels.
