Ružomberok

The city of Ružomberok is situated at the junction of the river Váh and Revúca, in the vicinity of the Low Tatras and Big Fatra mountain ranges. It is situated in the North of Slovakia in a popular tourist destination Dolne-Liptov.

Ružomberok is primarily well-know for its ski resort. The cable way goes to Malinô Brdo through the snow park and going through Grabovo. When the weather is good, one can enjoy the view of all the famous mountain ranges that opens from the top of Malino Brdo.

All the adventures start with Grabovo. The 8-seated mountain lift will deliver you to further tops. The lift length is 1,770 m and it transports 1,500 people per hour. The track is 1,300 meters long. This cableway facilitates the work of the three existing lifts and reduces queues at the same time that allows providing skiers with comfort. There are four more ski lifts for children in the very centre of the ski resort.

Ružomberok Ski Resort - SKIPARK RUŽOMBEROK – offers a great number of pistes, the length of which varies from 900 to 3,900 m. The total length of the slopes is 12 km. Twenty snow canons maintain and improve the snow cover of 8 km of routes.

The professionals will be interested in the longest ski piste in Slovakia that stretches from the chair lift top station to the cable-way bottom station. The piste is 3,900 m long and it is classified as tourist. The tourists who admire just fun in the snow will get much pleasure from snowtubing (riding in the tire). There is ski school for children and entertaining park. Various actions and competitions are also organized at the support of information and advertising partners.

Due to its good geographical position Ružomberok offers a tensed sightseeing program. Beshenev thermal spas are situated just in 2 km from the city. You can also visit the medical (купеле) Kúpele Lúčky and Tatraland Aquapark. There is also the Likava Castle, Vlkolínec village, caves in Demänovská Dolina, the open-air museum Havránok and a unique church in Sväty Kríž not far from the ski resort of Ružomberok.

Ružomberok is a unique place for being situated on the main railway directions such as Bratislava – Žilina – Poprad – Košice, Prague – Žilina – Košice. It will take you only 60 minutes to get to Ružomberok from Žilina by fast train.
